Manchester City named five full debutants for Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie at Chelsea as Manuel Pellegrini delivered on his promise to field a young team.
Tosin Adarabioyo, Aleix Garcia and David Faupala were all given a first taste of first-team action from the outset, with Manu Garcia and Bersant Celina also starting for the first time having previously made two and three substitute appearances, respectively.
England youth international Adarabioyo, 18, is a cultured, ball-playing centre-back, while Aleix Garcia, also 18 - signed last August from Villarreal - is a defensively-minded midfielder, and 19-year-old Frenchman Faupala was once a goalkeeper and joined City in July 2015.
Spanish playmaker Manu Garcia, 18, scored on his debut against Crystal Palace last October, and versatile forward Celina, 19, made his debut against Norwich in the FA Cup.
Chelsea, in contrast, opted for an experienced line-up including John Obi Mikel, Branislav Ivanovic, Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill, who between them have racked up more than 1000 appearances for the Blues.
