At one stage, the Balor Club looked like a fantasy which would probably never come true as there were no real stars on the current roster who could fit the bill and do a good job to make a potential faction a success.

Fans threw in names from every angle, but it finally looks like a Balor Club – or something of that sort – could slowly be coming to fruition. Forget the fantasy booking, the simpler, the better.

NJPW ARRIVALS

At the start of the year, the dirt sheets went into meltdown when news broke that New Japan Pro Wrestling stars would be leaving the company. AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and his tag team partner Doc Gallows, as well as NJPW native Shinsuke Nakamura, had given notice to the company.

We now know that AJ Styles made his debut at the Royal Rumble and defeated Chris Jericho at Fastlane while Nakamura was unveiled as an official signing by the WWE on Sunday and will take on Sami Zayn at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.

His final NJPW show was on January 30 which means two stars are left to make the jump. Anderson and Gallows both finished up with NJPW on February 20 after an emotional farewell to his Bullet Club partners and the fans at the Honor Rising event which was held at the Korakuen Hall fans.

BALOR CLUB?

Japanese pro wrestling reporter ‘Enuhito’ confirmed on his Twitter account that the four-time IWGP Tag Team Champion’s next destination is the WWE where he wants to find himself and become a big star.

He also reported that Anderson will want to come back somebody and get the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, but as fans, we should look forward to welcoming them to the WWE.

Now the question is, do the WWE bring them right up to the main roster? Or do they spend time in NXT? Gallows and Anderson have amazing chemistry as a team, and they have a good look about them too. Now while they can succeed as singles stars, I believe the WWE will want to capitalise on the success they are having.

Separating them will be a huge risk, we’ve seen how they’ve treated Gallows in the past so it will be important that they don’t ruin his character when he arrives. The focus will mainly be on Machine Gun. However, we know how close he is with Finn Balor and it’s inevitable that the two will cross paths at some stage.

NXT BEFORE MAIN ROSTER

The go-to answer will be that Anderson and Gallows could act as Balor’s muscle in a Balor led faction. This is the likely scenario as it’s something Balor himself has teased for quite a while and it would seem like a waste if they went down different avenues.

I do think NXT is the way to go, for now. It’s a huge risk jumping straight on to the main roster as some of the fans may not even know who Anderson is. If they are able to go on NXT and help Balor throughout 2016 – they will be able to build their own fan base or certainly increase the one they already have.

When Balor makes the jump to the main roster, that’s when Gallows and Anderson should make the jump too. It feels like the natural thing to do and a long-term plan which will work out the best.
