Triple H will compete against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32.

Latest rumors surrounding the WrestleMania 32 match card

Published 9 Comments

The card for WrestleMania 32 started to take shape over the past week, as three matches were confirmed for the event on April 3 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

So far, we know Roman Reigns will be taking on Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after he won the triple threat number one contenders match at Fastlane on Sunday.

Also, after this week's edition of Monday Night Raw, we know as well that Shane McMahon will be taking on The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, which if Shane wins, he will gain control of Raw, but if he loses, he must give a lock box of family secrets to his father. Brock Lesnar will face Dean Ambrose in a No Holds Barred match at the event as well.

Original Plans for Brock

Prior to Lesnar match against Ambrose being confirmed, many fans would have heard the rumor that The Beast would be facing Bray Wyatt at the event, and that was the original plan according to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, via NoDQ.

However, plans were changed to have The Beast Incarnate face The Lunatic Fringe instead because this match would take Ambrose to a new level, although that doesn't exactly mean he will be winning the match.

Although it's strange to think that the WWE might be planning for one of their biggest baby faces and most over characters on the roster to lose on the grandest wrestling stage of them all, this could be the catalyst which pushes the former Shield member towards a heel turn in the future.

Divas Championship Match

The report also says at the moment, the original plan Divas Championship match for WrestleMania is Charlotte vs Sasha Banks in a one-on-one battle, but it could still end up being a triple threat too.

It's nice to see the WWE finally recognising Banks' talent and giving her a title match on the main roster. Hopefully, she wins the title off Charlotte at the event as well and they have a feud which extends to close to SummerSlam later this year.

Tag Team Titles and Andre the Giant Battle Royal

The New Day are expected to have a match against The League of Nations at the show, and the Andre the Giant Battle Royal is likely to take place as well. Whether or not The New Day will be defending the Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania hasn't been made clear, but you would think the WWE would make them put the titles on the line on their biggest show of the year.

As for the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, hopefully the company will give the win in this match to someone who is deserving, and give them a good push afterwards as well so that they can eventually progress towards one of the minor championships. Perhaps someone like Neville or Sami Zayn.

The return of WWE legends

The report also says WWE wanted to 'stack the deck' against Reigns in his title fight against The Game by having Batista as a guest referee, but he turned it down. Also, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and possibly even Mick Foley are likely to have roles at WrestleMania as well, but no further information on these roles has been released.

A multi-tag team match has been speculated as well, as so many teams have recently been put together by the WWE. Expect something like this to be on the preshow to get the crowd going for the main card.

Overall, if a lot of this speculation comes true, WrestleMania 32 is looking like a good event that could have been far worse due to the company's ever-growing superstar injury list.
