Finally beats Messi

The former Manchester United will be glad to have finally got one over Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Messi has only got 37.7 million followers with Barcelona teammate Neymar being Ronaldo’s nearest rival on Instagram with 43.8 million followers.

The 31-year-old will be glad to achieve victory over Barcelona because he’s been very much in their shadow this season.

The Bernabeu club are nine points behind their rivals in La Liga while they were also kicked out of the Copa del Rey due to fielding an ineligible player.

On a personal level, Ronaldo lost out to Messi for the Ballon d’Or in January, coming second while Neymar came third.

Ronaldo will be forgetting about his Instagram achievement this weekend as he’ll be focusing on the Madrid derby on Saturday. Ronaldo’s side trail their city rivals by one point and both teams know they simply can’t afford to drop any more points as they somehow try to cut the gap to Barcelona.
