Kristaps Porzingis has been a sensation since he was selected by the New York Knicks with the fourth pick of the 2015 draft.
Having been booed by fans on draft night, the Latvian has shown exactly what he is capable of this season, pushing Karl-Anthony Towns all the way in the race for Rookie of the Year and becoming a firm fans' favourite in the Big Apple.
During the Knicks' Friday night game with the Orlando Magic, Porzingis received a message from a young female fan as she held up a board asking the rookie to go to her senior prom.
17-year-old Samantha Miller held up this sign as Porzingis posted numbers of 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks during the 108-95 win.
Samantha met Porzingis' father during the game and the center said he saw the sign and would be posting a recorded video response in the coming days.
As per ESPN, teenage Miller said: "I have been planning this for a little more than a month. I'm a huge fan of the Knicks and KP. I watch every game, so I wanted to bring him to prom with me, since I didn't go to my junior prom due to being bullied by some boys."
It would certainly be a special occasion to see Porzingis at the prom and we are all looking forward to his imminent response.
