Great news, Liverpool fans: Steven Gerrard is set to feature in a movie about his life and career.
This is according to The Sun, who understand that Gerrard’s life story will be made into a film by the award-winning director Asif Kapadia, the man responsible for critically-claimed documentaries about Amy Winehouse and Ayrton Senna.
The movie will look at Gerrard’s entire 17-year career at Anfield, from his debut in 1998 to his final match for his beloved local club in 2015, via that incredible Champions League triumph in Istanbul in 2005.

“Stevie was really impressed with Asif’s work after seeing Amy,” a source revealed. “Stevie’s story is not just one for the Liverpool fans but sports fans the world over.”
Kapadia, who is currently directing a film about the great Diego Maradona, reportedly held talks with Gerrard about the movie in California.
Big names set to appear
And the film is set to feature some pretty big names, including his ex-England teammates David Beckham and Wayne Rooney.
His former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is also expected to appear, as is Kenny Dalglish.
It’s safe to assume that many of Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammates - including the likes of Jamie Carragher, Xabi Alonso, Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres - will also appear to speak out what set Gerrard apart from the rest.
Arguably Liverpool’s greatest ever player - and certainly one of the best - Gerrard won two FA Cups, three League Cups, the UEFA Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and, of course, the Champions League with the Merseyside outfit.
