Harry Kane wears face mask for Tottenham - the best Twitter reaction

Published 1 Comments

Harry Kane will wear a face mask for Tottenham in Sunday’s game against Swansea after breaking his nose in last week’s FA Cup clash with Crystal Palace.

Needless to say, the striker was mocked after appearing for the warm-up in the white protective gear.

Twitter compared the England striker to Batman and Mr. Incredible, while some wished his mask resembled that worn by WWE wrestler and namesake Kane.

The 22-year-old will hope the face mask doesn’t become a distraction - Chelsea striker Diego Costa removed his midway through the first half in Saturday’s game against Southampton - as he looks to fire Tottenham within two points of Premier League leaders Leicester.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team have won five league games in a row and their showing in the Europa League win against Fiorentina in midweek bore the hallmarks of a title-winning team.

They are favourites to overcome Swansea but Tottenham’s following three fixtures could make or break their season. They travel to Upton Park to take on West Ham, who haven’t tasted defeat at home since August, before playing their biggest game of the season at home to north London rivals Arsenal.

Then it’s a trip to Dortmund for the first leg of the Europa League last 16.

So, the game against the Swans is the calm before the storm.

Kane has scored 18 goals in all competitions and Tottenham fans will be praying that a broken nose is the worst thing that happens to him for the remainder of the season.
