It’s been a difficult few days for Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid.
This time last week, Los Blancos lost the Madrid derby at the Bernabeu and it led to an almighty fallout.
Ronaldo seemed to throw his teammates under the bus by saying: "If we were all at my level, maybe we would be leaders," as quoted by Marca.
How was the Portuguese star going to recover from his outrageous outburst?
By doing his talking on the pitch and scoring four goals a week later of course.
Madrid were leading Celta Vigo by 1-0 at half-time after a rare goal from Pepe.
But then the former Manchester United man took centre stage.
His first strike was an pile-driver from all of 25 yards which beat the goalkeeper with sheer power.
And just eight minutes later, he stepped up and smashed a trademark free-kick over the ball and into the net.
But Ronaldo wasn’t finished there. He completed his hat-trick when Isco rolled the ball across to him for a simple tap in and produced a brilliant header from a corner for his fourth.
Watch Ronaldo’s brilliant four-goals below:
Ronaldo’s goal’s contributed to a 7-1 victory and helped ease any pressure surrounding manager Zinedine Zidane and his players.
It will also helped Ronaldo on an individual level as he goes in search of La Pichichi, the award for the top goalscorer in the league. His four goals means he has now scored 27, going two clear of Luis Suarez.
Jese and Gareth Bale, making his return from injury, joined Pepe and Ronaldo in the scoresheet.
Madrid will turn their focus to the Champions League on Tuesday where they host AS Roma hoping to take advantage of their 2-0 lead from their first-leg.
