Possible WrestleMania 32 opponents for Kalisto's United States Championship

Published 2 Comments

Reports have stated Kalisto will be defending his United States Championship at this year's WrestleMania 32.

This clash would join a card which is slowly, but surely, filling up with matches.

So far, we know Charlotte will be defending her Divas Championship against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, Brock Lesnar will be taking on Dean Ambrose in a No Holds Barred match, Shane McMahon will face The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, and Roman Reigns will take on Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Kalisto's opponent at the WWE's grandest show of the year is yet to be determined, but recent booking by the company could indicate who his challenger, or challengers, might be.

According to reports by the Wrestling Observer, via Wrestling Inc, The Lucha Dragon team member is being booked in triple threat matches against Alberto Del Rio and Ryback at upcoming house shows. Kalisto and Del Rio have already feuded, but Ryback would be a new and welcomed addition to the mix.

We've already seen clashes between Kalisto and Del Rio several times this year, with the former coming out on top overall, winning the championship from Del Rio on the January 11 edition of Raw, losing it to him on SmackDown in the same week, winning it back at the Royal Rumble, and retaining the title ever since.

Fans are probably pretty tired of seeing Kalisto clash with Del Rio, and they will be hoping that rivalry comes to its final conclusion if they face each other at WrestleMania, or maybe even before then. Ryback's possible inclusion in the match will give the title the boost it has been desperately craving since John Cena lost the title and stopped doing the United States Open Challenge.

The WWE are likely testing the waters with having Ryback clash against Kalisto and Del Rio, to see if the crowd can invest in the matches. Then they can make the decision of what to do with the United States title depending on the reaction to the matches.

Ryback has recently had a makeover in the past couple of months, in character change and appearance. He now sports a pair of black trunks, rather than the singlet, and he is starting to act a lot more heelish than what he used to, meaning he is having a persona change as well.

We don't know if Kalisto's United States Championship defense at WrestleMania 32 will be a singles match with either Del Rio or Ryback, or a triple threat match against them both. Most fans will probably be hoping it is a singles match against Ryback so that they don't have to see the same feud once again this year.
