Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has labelled fans 'crazy' for wanting Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club.
Speaking after Real's Champions League Round of 16 victory over Italian outfit Roma on Tuesday night, the Spanish defender emphasised that he respects the opinion of the club's faithful but has insisted that supporters must stick by the players.
Despite a goal from Ronaldo during Tuesday's encounter, sections of the Bernabeu crowd were heard jeering their star player.

Ronaldo may well have struck his 90th Champions League goal - more than anyone else in the history of the competition - and taken his tally for the season up to 40 goals, but it appears that fans aren't entirely convinced that their talisman should stay on at the club for the foreseeable future.
Ramos, who himself has been involved in a transfer saga recently - Manchester United were heavily linked with his signature last summer - certainly doesn't want Ronaldo to move on anytime soon.

Ramos speaks out
The defender stated: "I respect the opinion of the fans because their love is important, but when the things don’t go well they have to support the players because we all want the best for Madrid.
"For me it is crazy that they think he needs to leave Madrid, because he is historical."
Something is wrong
The notion that Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid may not be entirely correct. The 31-year-old has long expressed his passion and devotion for his beloved club, but it appears that supporters are starting to turn on him.
Despite his heroics throughout his remarkable stint in Spain - he is the club's all-time leading goalscorer - it appears that there is a growing belief that the club should head in a new direction.
There's always the possibility that Ronaldo's departure would hand other stars the platform to become the leading man, but surely it's impossible to replace the former Manchester United star.
Ronaldo's goalscoring record is absolutely tremendous - he has broken record after record for a number of years - and there's not many in the world of football that have the attributes to replace him.
