Every year, a couple of legendary WWE superstars from the past appear at WrestleMania in some way. They've varied in their quality of appearances, but overall, it's a great nostalgia moment for the fans to see some of their favorite past superstars in the ring once more.
Shawn Michaels - amongst other past wrestlers such as The Rock, Mick Foley, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Ric Flair - are speculated to appear on the show this year at WrestleMania 32, which is taking place in Michaels' home state of Texas.
According to NoDQ, Michaels appeared on ESPN earlier this week, teasing his possible involvement in the show. Two ideas have reportedly been suggested to Mr. WrestleMania for his participation at the event.

The report said: "One of idea would to be put him as a special guest referee in Roman Reigns’ match against Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This role was turned down earlier by Batista. The idea would be to stack the deck against Reigns for him to overcome.
"The second idea was for Michaels to participate in run-in type deal, similar to the one DX and nWo did last year. As of this writing, there is no word on if Michaels’ turned down either of these roles offered to him."

The first and second ideas are not bad, but Michaels' involvement in the match would seem to have come just out of the blue if he isn't on an episode of Raw prior to the event.
The Heart Break Kid has reached the status within the business where he is greeted as a face star upon his return to the company. Stacking the deck against Reigns with Michaels will be difficult for some fans to believe because they know HBK wants what's best for the WWE.
The same goes with the second idea as well. The run-in worked last year because the DX and nWo clashing at WrestleMania 31 worked well because no one expected it and due to the fact it took place during The Game's match against Sting. It probably won't have the same effect this year, only furthering the hate by the majority of fans towards The Big Dog.
If Michaels was to side with Triple H entering WrestleMania, he would need to establish himself as a heel prior to the match, but performing Sweet Chin Music on Reigns is only going to be received by cheers because of how much the crowd hates the former Shield member at the moment.
This year's main event is going to be one of the most pivotal events in WWE history, because of what is at stake for the company. If Reigns can't be accepted as champion at WrestleMania, even with the involvement of HBK, then when will he be?
A heel turn is desperately needed for Roman for him to succeed in the future in the WWE as him being face isn't working right now, but it's difficult to see how it can come before WrestleMania without it feeling rushed.
