Firmino is certainly one to watch on Merseyside. The Brazilian's creativity and work rate came to the fore against United, playing a delightful through ball that lead to Nathaniel Clyne winning a penalty and scoring his side's second goal with a nice finish during the second half.
It was yet another in a string of fine performances from the 24-year-old, who has even been compared to Luis Suarez by Thierry Henry in recent times.
Bombing up and down the right flank all night, adding pace to Liverpool's attack and fulfilling his defensive duties - Clyne was spectacular against Louis van Gaal's side.
The right-back provided a constant outlet going forward, so much so that he won the penalty which gave the Reds the lead.
Strong in the tackle and composed in possession, Clyne has been a solid £12.5 million signing at Anfield.
If it's one thing Lallana can never be criticised for, it's his worth ethic. Despite coming up against a taller and stronger opponent in Marouane Fellaini, the England international held his own and got the better of the Belgian throughout a pulsating clash.
An assist for Firmino's goal capped off an excellent performance, showing great control, skill and distribution throughout. He's finally beginning to justify his £25 million transfer fee.
