Liverpool drawn against Borussia Dortmund in Europa League quarter-final

Liverpool will face Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-finals as the tie of the round sees Jurgen Klopp return to his former team.

Klopp admitted he didn't want to face the Germans - the tournament's favourites - but that's exactly what he's got.

Elsewhere, Braga take on Shakhtar Donetsk, Villarreal face Sparta Prague and Athletic Bilbao meet Sevilla.

Liverpool are the Premier League’s sole representatives in the tournament after they beat Manchester United 3-1 on aggregate.

Klopp admitted after last night’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford that he was desperate to avoid his former club.

The Bundesliga team sent out a clear message to their rivals with a stunning 5-1 aggregate win over Tottenham.

He was quoted by the Mirror as saying: “Dortmund? Of course not!

“Why should I want the strongest team in the tournament in the next round? I'm not that silly!

“But if we go there, we will try to win. I’m pretty sure there are no easy games now, we have to be prepared.”

Philippe Coutinho scored a brilliant goal to against Manchester United to give Liverpool the away goal they needed to effectively seal the tie and but their route to the final has become significantly more difficult now.

Borussia Dortmund threat

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brace helped Dortmund seal a 2-1 victory at White Hart Lane on Thursday as they overcame their Premier League opponents with ease. 

Thomas Tuchel's side are the bookmakers' favourites and Liverpool will regret the moment their name was drawn against Dortmund in the last-eight.
