The Cleveland Browns have been on the hunt for a new quarterback since their newly appointed head coach Hue Jackson decided Johnny Manziel would not have a future with the franchise.
It's not something that will come easy for the Browns as they have selected several starting quarterbacks over the past 10 years or so, and every single one has failed to make the desired impression.
However, under Jackson, Cleveland has a little bit of optimism, thanks to his previous work with the offense at the Cincinnati Bengals over the last two seasons. He is expected to select the team's next quarterback via one of three possible ways; with the second pick in the 2016 NFL draft, or via a trade for San Francisco 49ers' Colin Kaepernick, or picking up a free agent like Robert Griffin III.

Speaking of the former Washington Redskins quarterback, Jackson said, according to NFL.com, that he is a "very talented" performer.
He said: "It was a great meeting. I think he's obviously a tremendous talent and a great young man. He had a lot of success early in Washington and then things just didn't work out. Those things happen in the National Football League. But at the same time we are going through our process.

"We are going to be very diligent in what we are doing -- trying to make sure that we put the right quarterbacks on our football team and in that quarterback room. And that's one of my biggest responsibilities and also one of our organization's biggest responsibilities."
However, on the recent quietness on Kaepernick developments, he said: "I can't comment on players on other teams. But it is where it is and eventually I think all those things will show itself."
We're definitely moving closer towards who the starting quarterback for the Browns will be in 2016, and if you only had to pick between either RG3 or Kaepernick and avoid drafting a signal caller completely, it sounds like they're edging towards the former Redskins player.
Further reports by Pro Football Talk have suggested Cleveland is swaying more towards RG3, as they have said the team is calling people that know the quarterback to find out more about his character.
After all the problems the Browns have had at quarterback over the years, and the injury history that RG3 has, don't expect the franchise to be rushing to any sort of conclusion at the position anytime soon. They'll be wanting to make sure they get this decision right so that they can finally start to build a franchise around their quarterback, rather than wasting more time with inadequate players.
