Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has hit out at manager Jurgen Klopp, claiming that it's 'hard to understand' why the German coach is ignoring him.
Since Klopp's arrival on Merseyside, Benteke has endured a tricky period - he has failed to hold down a regular place in the team - and things don't appear to be getting any better for him at this stage.
In fact, the forward hasn't played in the Premier League for the full 90 minutes since the Reds suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham United on January 2.

Following his 21-minute cameo against Southampton on Sunday - Liverpool lost the game 3-2 - he was criticised by Klopp on the sidelines after missing a glorious opportunity to put his side back in control.
Benteke has been the subject of derision throughout the course of the campaign but has finally revealed how Klopp has been making him feel.

Benteke hits out
“Some team-mates have said that I was lucky with the arrival of Klopp, because I certainly would play,” Benteke told Sport/Voetbalmagazine, as per Goal.com.
“When your coach says he wanted to take you to Dortmund and a little later you sit at the same club and he ignores you, it is hard to understand.”
It has long been suggested that Benteke doesn't suit Klopp's style of play, but the Belgium international insists he doesn't agree.
"I do not understand why people say that,” he continued.
“I can play pressing and moving a lot. It is not that we play in the Barcelona style.”
There could be no coming back
It's now looking increasingly unlikely that the striker will be able to save his Liverpool career. For one reason or another, Klopp just doesn't appear to fancy him and the player's latest comments aren't exactly going to help his cause.
Time and time again over the last few months, Benteke has struggled to prove his credentials on Merseyside and he's probably not going to get too many more chances during the final stages of this season.
Liverpool still have a great deal to play for, of course - they hold an outside chance of securing a place in the top four of the Premier League, while they will be hoping to continue their progression in the Europa League - but Benteke may have to watch on from the sidelines.
Unsurprisingly, after Benteke's comments, Liverpool fans have taken to social media to hit out at the striker. In fact, a number of Reds fans now believe that there will be no coming back for the former Aston Villa man at Anfield.
