The Golden State Warriors and the NBA as a whole have become so used to seeing Stephen Curry score from range that it is almost expected every time he picks up the ball. 

There have been numerous occasions this season where the reigning MVP and his teammates have celebrated a made shot before the ball has even passed through the rim. 

So when Curry received the ball on the perimeter in acres of space during the win over the Dallas Mavericks, Klay Thompson could've been forgiven for expecting his Splash Brother to add another three to his collection.

However, he did something completely out of character. He passed.

Thompson had already raised his arms in celebration and turned his back when the point guard decided against shooting. It was a funny moment of miscommunication between the backcourt duo that you can see below.

The messed up play had no outcome on the result at the Oracle Arena as the Warriors moved to 65-7 for the season. 

Thompson led the scoring with 40 points, including nine three-pointers and Curry chipped in with 33 as the Dubs sank 21 buckets from behind the arc.

The Bay Area franchise are back in action in the early hours of Monday morning when they play host to the Philadelphia 76ers.
