The Easter Bank Holiday weekend may well be over, but Liverpool fans are waking up to various reports claiming that World Cup-winner Mario Gotze could join their club this summer.
Gotze, of course, has endured a tricky period in the Bundesliga - he has failed to make an impression under Pep Guardiola's guidance this season - so it's not entirely surprising that he has been linked with a move away from the club.

In fact, the technically gifted playmaker has only featured on eight occasions in the Bundesliga for the Bavarians this term.
At 23, he will surely be desperate to kick on over the coming years, but will he be reunited with revered manager Jurgen Klopp? Gotze worked under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund but signed for Bayern in the summer of 2013.
Liverpool fans, then, will be hoping to see their club's hierarchy pull out all the stops to secure the signature of the Germany international.
The Reds have flattered to deceive for far too long but appear to be gaining some momentum under their new manager.
Klopp and co. will be well aware, however, that there's still a long way to go as the club goes in search of long-term success.
It's most definitely expected that the manager will bring in new players in the next transfer window in an attempt to put together his own side.
Gotze certainly would change the dynamic at Anfield and, with the Mail claiming that the club will be able to land him for a cut-price fee of £20 million, would represent a bargain for the Reds. In fact, the same report has also suggested that he would be willing to play under Klopp's regime once again.
Despite his recent struggles in Germany's elite division, Liverpool fans know only too well that Gotze would add even more quality to their attacking line.
With the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and co. already plying their trade on Merseyside, Liverpool fans are rightly excited by the prospect of Gotze joining the ranks.
