WWE have got the Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania 32 all wrong

With WrestleMania 32 less than a week away now, members of the WWE Universe will be more than disappointed with a particular match on the card.

During last week's episode of Monday Night Raw, it was confirmed that Kevin Owens will be putting his Intercontinental Championship Title on the line against six men from WWE's roster.

Wrong decision

Possibly the biggest problem with this match is that it is the clearest example of WWE's creative team getting it wrong, not least because the bout will be taking place on the biggest night on the professional wrestling calendar.

Those in charge of putting together the match card for WrestleMania 32 should be aware of the criticism which will arise by placing Kalisto in a one on one match for his United States Championship Title against Ryback at the event.

This title should have undoubtedly been the one to be on the line in a ladder match, given Kalisto's incredible talent when it comes to ladder matches, as opposed to Kevin Owens'.

Instead, as Wrestle Zone has reported, Owens will be up against Dolph Ziggler, Sin Cara, The Miz, Zack Ryder, Stardust and Sami Zayn on April 3 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Whilst the match will prove exciting for fans of WWE stars such as Ziggler and Zayn, the booking as a whole will surely not have much of an impact during the night itself.

Members of the WWE Universe will surely be outraged and confused at the inclusion of names such as Zack Ryder and Sin Cara, whose involvement would simply have made more sense were it have been as part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Ultimately, the overall build for this year's WrestleMania event has been significantly more tame than in previous years, which surely will not provide much hope for fans of WWE worldwide.

Poor participants

The second big issue with this match is the participants which were confirmed during last night's edition of Monday Night Raw.

There were so many options which WWE could have gone with in relation to Kevin Owens defending his Intercontinental Championship Title, yet the company decided to go with what many will see as the worst.

A simple singles match between Owens and Sami Zayn especially given their history in NXT would have been special enough on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.

Alternatively, WWE could have included genuinely worthy participants in the bout, with the likes of Tyler Breeze and Mark Henry being forgotten about with good reason.
