The Undertaker may be set to defend his WrestleMania status against Shane McMahon this weekend at The Showcase of The Immortals, but Shane-O-Mac wasn't always going to be his opponent if you believe the speculation.
A couple of months ago, it was rumored that Braun Strowman would be facing The Phenom, which angered WWE fans a lot. They felt The Wyatt Family member hadn't done enough within the company to earn a match of such caliber. Strowman has only been part of the WWE main roster since August 2015.
After that, he was linked with a match against Brock Lesnar, but that has since been shot down and The Beast is now in a match against Dean Ambrose. Strowman was then speculated to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, but according to F4WOnline.com, via NoDQ, that's not happening now either.

Their report says: "WWE officials have been having second thoughts regarding Braun Strowman, particularly after the reaction he received in his match with Dean Ambrose in Philadelphia.
"It’s being said that Strowman is no longer a lock to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Plans for him to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam are also no longer a sure thing."
Although he hasn't done much of merit yet to earn a WrestleMania match against some of the companies biggest stars, you would have thought if he was so adored by Vince McMahon for being a home-grown product, he would be a lock to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. That appears to no longer be the case.
It comes as no surprise that the WWE is also nixing plans for The Black Sheep to face The Beast at SummerSlam later this year, arguably the company's biggest show after WrestleMania. It would have been interesting to see how the booking would have worked for the WWE to come to this conclusion, as you would have thought it would be Bray Wyatt to face Lesnar on such an occasion.
While that match might no longer be taking place, for a group like The Wyatts, they still don't have anything booked for WrestleMania, so they are still expected to play a part in the outcome of the Ambrose vs Lesnar No Holds Barred match.
Hopefully, this is the start of a huge push for The Wyatt Family in 2016, specifically for Bray Wyatt and Strowman as they have the biggest potential. Luke Harper would be on this list too but unfortunately, he is currently out with an injury.
If Strowman isn't a lock to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, then Wyatt should be. After what he has achieved since joining the main roster, he deserves the push, as he is yet to win a championship in the WWE.
