Napoli's Marek Hamsik quashes rumours linking him with Real Madrid

Napoli ace Marek Hamsik has been linked with a number of European heavyweights in recent years yet a move away from Italy has never materialised.

Following the arrival of Rafael Benitez at Real Madrid last summer rumours resurfaced of Hamsik joining his former boss at the Bernabeu - the Spaniard's departure after seven months quelled such speculation, though.

The midfielder's recent form has seen interest reportedly reignite from Real, but the Slovakian has been quick to play down talk of a potential move away.

"They could drop some points on the way and we’ve got to take advantage.”

The 28-year-old insists he has never played with such a talented squad at the Stadio San Paolo.

"Since I’ve worn this shirt, I’ve never seen such a good Napoli side. We’re truly united and compact. I never had this feeling in previous years and I want it to last to the end."

Napoli will be gearing up for an away trip to Udinese on Sunday, whilst Juventus are favourites to claim another three points when they host Empoli at the Juventus Stadium on Saturday.
