NXT TakeOver: Dallas - what will be the best match of the event

NXT TakeOver: Dallas takes place tomorrow night with Finn Balor defending his NXT Championship against Samoa Joe once more.

All three championships will be on the line in what is the first TakeOver event of the year, taking place just two nights before WrestleMania and they’ll be looking to kick WrestleMania weekend in the best way possible.

The great thing about TakeOver events are the matches that are announced beforehand; they usually impress and no match really ‘flops.' On occasion, the matches announced on the night sometimes do fail to have any sort of impact, but that is very rare.

There are a lot of matches to get excited by for TakeOver: so here are, what I believe, will be the top three matches to take place at TakeOver, and we should expect he others to try and give them a good run for their money.

I believe the match between Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura will steal the show, and it’ll be the one we’re all left talking about.

There’s already a lot of excitement surrounding it; the WWE finally managed to sign Nakamura to a contract and to have his first match at a TakeOver event against arguably the biggest NXT star in history is something we would have never imagined.

There’s a reason Zayn was picked for this match; he’s the ideal star to go up against the King of Strong Style and if this is his final NXT match, then what a way to bow out. The only question mark I have here is whether Zayn will give everything in this match.

The only reason I say that is he'll be wary of sustaining any injuries, WrestleMania is already an injury-hit event, and he's playing a big part in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match, and he wouldn't want to jeopardise his massive opportunity.

At the same time, you don't want to see somebody like Zayn not give it his all in a match of this magnitude, he's up against a huge name, and we're expecting to see a show stealer, so I still believe that's what we'll see.

Bayley defends her NXT Women’s Championship against Asuka, and it’s another match which will have the fans divided.

On one hand, you have the most popular star on NXT as she gets amazing reactions on a weekly basis, and her journey to the top was well-documents as the fans were taking on an emotional journey because they can relate to her. She’s been a fantastic champion but for the first time, there’s real doubt over whether she’ll not only retain, but whether she’ll even stay on NXT.

Then, on the other hand, you have Asuka, she hasn’t lost a match yet, so she’s the biggest threat to Bayley’s championship. If there’s anyone on NXT who can cause her problems, then it’s Asuka, although she’s also ready for the main roster.

Right now, you can’t call a winner here, and their match will make Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Charlotte want to one-up them, that’s the sign of a match to be excited by.

I believe Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe will be the main event of the evening, but I don’t think it will be the match that steals the show, that honour will go to Zayn and Nakamura.

I say that because we’ve already seen Balor defend his championship against Joe, we haven’t seen Nakamura inside of an NXT ring yet, let alone go up against Zayn. We also haven’t seen Bayley take on Asuka, so they are ‘firsts’ that fans are excited by.

This means Balor and Joe will need to step up and make sure we’re left talking about their match. I do believe they will pull something special out of the bag as they always do, it’s just a question of what that something will be.

I was close to picking the NXT Tag Team Championship match as the third best match that will take place because American Alpha are ridiculously over, and The Revival are great champions. I still think that could happen, but I feel if we see the arrival of Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson then it will be difficult to top.

If they don't arrive, then I wouldn't be surprised to see fans being more into the tag team match than the NXT Championship match.
