WrestleMania is right around the corner and pressure will be at an all-time high for the stars to impress at the injury-hit event.
Big names like Cesaro, Randy Orton, John Cena and Seth Rollins are set to miss the event so it’s clear other stars will be forced to step up and ensure that fans remember this WrestleMania as one of the best in recent years.
The WWE does have a massive task ahead of them, along with the injuries they’ll have to deal with disgruntled fans as well as trying their level best to get the WWE Universe to side with Roman Reigns; but that probably won’t happen.

There are individuals on the card who will need not necessarily prove themselves, but they’ll have a point to prove and will want to do their best to deal with the pressure that WrestleMania and their respective matches will bring.
Let’s get the most obvious one out of the way; Reigns has a point to prove at WrestleMania, he needs to make sure he goes out there and lays it all out on the line and try his best to deal with the nuclear negative reactions coming his way.
The WWE can counter this by doing what fans want, and that’s to turn him heel at the event which would really make things interesting heading into Monday Night Raw the following night. He’s improved in the ring, and he needs to show us something we’ve never seen before; the fans aren’t going to make it easy for him either, especially when he’s going up against a heel who is being cheered.
You can question whether he deserves the spot he’s in or not, but as fans of the product we have to deal with it and see what the WWE and Reigns have to offer us on Sunday, surely they have something up their sleeves.
Dean Ambrose has certainly come a long way since WrestleMania 31, from competing in the multi-man Intercontinental Championship Ladder match which was won by Daniel Bryan, he’s going up against possibly the biggest draw in the WWE today.
The funny thing is, Ambrose deserves to be the spot he’s in as he’s impressed so much over the past few months and has really grown to become the biggest face in the company. He’s done whatever has been asked of him and more, he’s made sure the fans are engaged and interested in what he’s doing in every single match he’s involved in.
It did seem as if the decision to have Ambrose take on Brock Lesnar came as a last minute decision, but it’s definitely paid off because it’s not something we expected to happen a year ago. Ambrose needs to impress; this is his golden opportunity to prove to the WWE management that he’s somebody worth investing in.
The stipulation is perfect for him as well; the street fight is the chance he needs to bring out the Jon Moxley in him so the WWE hierarchy admits he’s somebody who can carry the company plus any win over Lesnar is an accomplishment in itself.
It’s surreal to see AJ Styles compete on Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, let alone hearing his music hit at the AT&T Stadium for WrestleMania, but he truly deserves this opportunity.
It’s been a long ride for Styles to reach the WWE and the pressure of impressing in his first WrestleMania will be at the back of his mind. The good thing for him is that he’s up against an opponent he’s looked really comfortable against in Chris Jericho so if he can do what he’s been doing over the past month or so, he should be fine.
Clearly, it’s on a bigger scale, and that alone could add unnecessary pressure, but he’s an experienced wrestler. A win for Styles could be huge for him, a debut WrestleMania win over Jericho will only improve his chances of becoming an even bigger star following the event.
The match between Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch is a Diva’s match we can finally be excited for. For the first time in a very long time a match featuring women is extremely important at WrestleMania and as a fan, you can only be happy to see them making a change.
Charlotte has enjoyed a successful reign as champion, she’s far better as a heel than a face and having Ric Flair in her corner every single day, you can’t help but hate her more because of their tactics.
Many expect Banks to be the one who walks out with the Diva’s Championship in the triple threat match, especially since she’s probably the finest female performer and the planet, and it helps that the WWE officials are high on her, and rightfully so.
This doesn’t bode well for Lynch, although she’s talented in her own right and boasts a huge fan base, I can’t help but feel that the WWE are ruling her out already because of how much more Banks can bring to the table.
Plus with her cousin Snoop Dogg being inducted into the Hall of Fame, a Lynch win seems even more unlikely. If she can impress and put her stamp on the match, then it could work in her favour with more opportunities down the line.
On a personal level, I am most excited to see Sami Zayn compete at WrestleMania as I didn’t think he would be on the main roster until after the event.
In an ideal world, he would’ve gone up against Kevin Owens in a singles match with the championship, but his style is definitely suited to a ladder match. He can be the stand-out star in this match because he isn’t afraid to put his body on the line – along with the other guys involved in the match.
I do think there’s pressure on his shoulders to impress in his first WrestleMania; we already know how talented he is and now is the biggest test for him to go out there and show why many consider him one of the best wrestlers on the planet today.
It’s clear the WWE are showing a lot of faith by having him in this match, so he needs to repay that faith. If he fails, then who knows where he’ll end up on the main roster following the event? He could either be as successful as Owens, or he could fail to hit expectations like Tyler Breeze.
