Adam Johnson has been in prison for less than two weeks and it sounds like the former England and Sunderland footballer, who was sentenced to six years, is already struggling.
Johnson is currently on suicide watch and has reportedly told friends that he won’t be able to survive prison unless he sees his 14-month-old daughter. It was also reported over the weekend that he broke down in tears after being visited by his former partner, Stacey Flounders, last Friday.
After discovering who Johnson is sharing his wing with, it’s not difficult to understand why the 28-year-old is having a hard time adjusting to prison life.

According to the Mirror, the disgraced footballer is spending his time at HMP Armley with a “sick child abuse gang”.
Ten “child sex beasts” who subjected a 13-year-old girl to “twisted abuse” are reportedly on the same block.

Source reveals details about Johnson's wing-mates
"A-Wing is where the nonces are,” a source told the Daily Star, according to the Mirror. “It’s where you’ll find the sick perverts who are into kids.
"There’s loads of them there as they are classed as vulnerable prisoners to stop them getting jumped on the normal wings.
"A lot of them are fairly low-profile cases you don’t hear about. But there are a lot of grooming gangs and traffickers from Rotherham and around that area here.
"The gang who raped that young girl in Keighley – they’re all in here."
The Mirror name Khalid Raja Mahmood, Tauqeer Hussain, Yasser Kabir, Sufyan Ziarab, Bilal Ziarab and Israr Ali as some of Johnson’s wing-mates.
Johnson has lodged appeal
Johnson’s sister, Faye, confirmed last week that her brother has lodged an appeal against his conviction for sexual activity with a child.
It was also revealed that Johnson is poised to appeal his six-year prison sentence.
Johnson’s reputation lies in tatters after his conviction but there were surprise reports over the weekend that he could get back with his former partner.
A source told the Sun on Sunday, per the Mirror: "Adam burst into tears as soon as he saw Stacey and the emotion was running pretty high.
"They obviously still care for each other greatly and it was probably too much for him to take after the reality of his six-year sentence.
"It has hit him really hard and he thinks he's been unfairly hit because of who he is."
