Hindsight is a wonderful thing, of course. It's easy to make a prediction and then appear pretty foolish after it plays out differently.
However, that doesn't stop us enjoying the misfortune of others. Well, we've found a rather amusing prediction about Leicester City after they appointed experienced Italian manager Claudio Ranieri as their new manager.
And that prediction came from former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann. The ex-German international, who previously coached the Foxes under Sven-Goran Eriksson's regime, admitted that he couldn't believe Leicester had appointed Ranieri.

Indeed, back in July, Hamann suggested that, despite Leicester being a great club, they would be playing against MK Dons rather than Manchester United in the 2016/17 season.
Basically, before a ball had been kicked, Hamann had condemned the Foxes to relegation.
He tweeted: "Can't believe Leicester appointed Ranieri ... Great club, great fanbase but I'm afraid MK rather than Old Trafford season after next."
Well, as we all know now, Hamann's prediction didn't go too well. Currently sitting at the summit of England's elite division, Leicester are well and truly on course to secure the Premier League title.
As it stands, they sit seven points in front of north London outfit Tottenham and have just six games remaining. Incredibly, Leicester, who have only lost three games all season, can lose two of their final six games and still secure the prestigious prize.
They took another step towards glory this past weekend, of course, as they secured a crucial 1-0 victory Southampton.
Following the game, Ranieri insisted that he was calm but declared that it had been a magical season.
He stated, per the BBC: "I am very calm. We believe in what we are doing. We believe it's a magical season and next season won't be the same.
"We try to do our best. Other teams can win 3-0, 4-0. We have to fight to win 1-0. We must be focused in our way."
Title run in
Leicester fans are dreaming of the title, but what stands in their way between now and the end of the campaign?
Well, the next three games are all winnable fixtures; the Foxes will believe that they can secure maximum points against the trio of Sunderland, West Ham and Swansea City.
However, they face a tough final three games; Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea aren't enjoying the greatest of campaigns, but they will still prove stern challenges. Leicester are on a roll, though, and there may well be no stopping them.
