Barcelona should sign Paul Pogba, says Neymar

Barcelona are officially the best team in the world.

They won the treble last season and claimed the FIFA Club World Cup in December.

They are on course to win their second consecutive treble this campaign and some people consider them to be the best side of all-time.

However, there is still room for the side to get even better. They lost Saturday’s El Clasico - their third loss in the league for Luis Enrique’s men. Shocking.

While that defeat against Real Madrid is unlikely to derail Barca's title bid - they’re still six points clear - it serves as a wake-up call for the Catalan club.

But, how can Barcelona possibly improve their incredible side?

Neymar wants Pogba

Neymar knows one player who would definitely strengthen it.

“Paul Pogba - he is a player who would fit in well here at Barcelona,” he told La Liga’s official website, when asked to name one player his club should sign.

It’s hardly a surprising selection. In fact, Pogba and Neymar have already lined up in the same side - the FIFA World XI.

At the age of 23, Pogba has the footballing world at his feet.

The Frenchman has been influential for Juventus this season as they close in on the Serie A title.

When you look at the bigger picture it makes sense for Barca to break the bank of the talented playmaker. Andres Iniesta, who is now 31, will need a long-term replacement soon and Pogba could be seen as the ideal man for the job.

Neymar has scored 27 goals this season and would score plenty more with someone of Pogba quality playing behind him.

Attitude as well as quality

And, when asked about his growing shirt collection, the striker admitted that he admired Pogba’s attitude, as well as his quality.

"I would like to have Pogba's shirt,” the Brazil captain added.

“He’s young, I like how he plays, how he behaves. I'd love to swap shirts with him.”

There is likely to be plenty of interest in Pogba this summer, despite the midfielder not stating that he’s leaving the Old Lady soon.

Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester City are rumoured to be interested, while fellow Spanish club Real Madrid have also been linked.

Spell at United

One club that Pogba won’t be interested in signing for is Manchester United. Earlier this year, the superstar spoke about his three-year spell at Old Trafford.

“People need to know that nothing at Juve is easy,” Pogba told Italian newspaper La Stampa.

“There is a different culture of work compared to elsewhere. I was at Manchester and it seemed like being on holiday.

“Here we work so much. All these titles, we didn't steal them. It was by working right to the end,” he added.

Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t do too much wrong at Manchester United but allowing Pogba to leave was one of them - just ask Neymar.
