One of the best and the most surprising matches from WrestleMania 32 was the ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship between the then champion Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust, The Miz, Sin Cara, and Zack Ryder.
To the surprise of many fans inside the AT&T Stadium and the millions watching at home, they witnessed Ryder push Miz off the ladder at the very last second while he was celebrating, to then grab the Intercontinental Championship for himself to win the match.
The next night on Raw, he celebrated his title win for a short period of time, only for The Awesome One to come out and demand a match, which Ryder accepted. After a distraction from Miz's wife Maryse as she attacked Ryder's father who was sitting ringside, The Woo Woo Woo Kid lost the title.

When they had a rematch a couple of days later on SmackDown, Maryse once again helped The Miz win the championship ending Ryder's time hunting down the Intercontinental Championship for the time being.
However, according to a report by Cageside Seats: "Despite hinting on Twitter that his feud with Miz over the Intercontinental title may continue, it looks like Zack Ryder is headed back to his pre-WrestleMania role in NXT's Hype Bros tag team with Mojo Rawley."
Yes, him and Rawley are a great tag team in NXT, but everyone thought Ryder winning Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania was a sign that the WWE was going to give the recognition that he deserves. This appears to no longer be the case, which is a real shame not only for him but for the title's integrity as well.
After what happened on Raw last night, it looks like the WWE is going to have The Miz defend the championship at Payback against Cesaro after The Swiss Sensation won a number one contender match for the title against Owens.
While that will be a good match, dismissing Ryder so quickly is very disrespectful to what happened at WrestleMania. At least give him a pay-per-view to defend the title. It's the minimum he deserves because of how long he has been with the company for and how much the fans love him.
So what was the point of having him win the title in the first place if he is just going to lose a day later with no storyline to follow. It's understood that he was just filling a spot for the injured Neville, but if he isn't going to have a feud after the title win, then don't give him the title.
If the rumor is true, the WWE has turned the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship from a great match, to one you should just forget about because the outcome has no meaning.
