Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

The Authority expected to return on next week's Monday Night Raw

Published 8 Comments

For the third week in a row, Shane McMahon was given the reigns to take control of another episode of Monday Night Raw.

Previous episodes he has been in control of has received a strong positive response by the WWE Universe, despite the poor overall ratings, so the WWE has kept going with the storyline that Shane-O-Mac is running the show.

This goes against what happened at WrestleMania 32, when Shane lost his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker, meaning he wouldn't be taking control of Raw. Although he lost, it appears Vince McMahon may have given him the green light to run Raw for a couple of weeks anyways.

One stable might be coming back in order to put a stop to this because Shane hasn't earned it, and 'restore order'. That stable being The Authority.

Cageside Seats have said: "Looks like The Authority will be back soon, but Triple H & Stephanie McMahon's return will start the end of the gimmick. A feud with Shane is expected to start by next Monday's Raw."

This could flow nicely into what could be a brand split, which has been rumored for quite some time. It will be interesting to see how this storyline could develop if the feud was to occur at all. If The Authority does show up next week, this would be the first time we have seen Triple H and Stephanie McMahon since The Game lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32.

Next week's Raw will be taking place at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, which isn't that far away from the WWE's Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. However, it is worth noting that - as of writing - on the WWE's website and on the XL Center's website, neither Shane McMahon or any members of The Authority are advertised for the event in just under a weeks time.

Vince McMahon Honored At The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

The only superstars that are advertised on the WWE's website for the show are Reigns, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, and Sheamus. On the XL Center's website, a match of Reigns, Ambrose, and Styles vs. Sheamus, Jericho, and Owens is advertised.

They also advertise The Wyatt Family, Big Show, Mark Henry, Demon Kane, The New Day, The Dudley Boyz, Charlotte, Paige for the event as well.

It will be interesting to see if Triple H does demand his rematch against Reigns upon his return to the WWE since his WrestleMania loss - as he is still entitled to it - or if he decides to go after Shane McMahon to take back what he probably believes belongs to The Authority, control of Raw and the WWE.
