As WWE main roster debuts go, Baron Corbin probably had one of the best. Winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale on the grandest stage of them all could be the thing that catapults Corbin into the position he deserves on the main roster.

Corbin has lit up NXT for the past few months and was always set to be a huge star on the main roster, but the worry was whether or not WWE's main roster creative team would know what to do with such a unique talent.

WHO IS BARON CORBIN?

Corbin sat down with Michael Cole a while back and revealed a few things about his character that could see him generate a huge amount of heat from the WWE Universe, especially after he stated the following:

“It’s true. I don’t respect anyone who has a background on the independent circuit. NXT is the professional level, and it’s the best of the best. If you played on an intramural flag football team, it doesn’t make you NFL material. I came from one professional sport to another, and it’s an entirely different level. I was in the top one percent of football players.

"Indie guys are in the bottom 95 percent of wrestlers. I don’t care what they did or how many nobodies are sitting in their mom’s basement tweeting how good they are. If they were so good, it wouldn’t take them 10 years to get here. When those guys walk in the door, I am happy to show them they don’t belong.”

Whilst these comments were made when Corbin was a part of a bitter feud with Austin Aries, they could easily be transferred to the main roster and easily allow him to pick up a feud with a former Independent wrestler.

WWE'S INDEPENDENT SUPERSTARS

It seems Baron has stepped into a rivalry with Dolph Ziggler after a stunning End of Days to The Showoff on the outside of the ring on his debut, Dolph has returned and it could lead to Baron's first one-on-one match at a main roster pay-per-view.

That being said, these comments will not be ones that many wrestlers of the main roster will be happy with. The likes of Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Seth Rollins and the newly signed duo of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are all stars who have come up through the indies to the main roster and they wouldn't be happy about being called the "bottom 95 percent of wrestlers."

Going forward Baron Corbin looks like he could step into any rivalry with any superstar if these comments are brought back up by WWE. If not then it would be a complete waste of what could be a fantastic rivalry that could finally reveal who was better, independent wrestlers, or WWE's crafted machines?
