Thierry Henry watched Sergio Aguero surpass him to become the second faster player to score 100 Premier League on Tuesday.
The Argentinian reached a century in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle, his 147th game for the Citizens.
Aguero needed 13 fewer games to hit 100 than Henry but the Arsenal legend was graceful after watching the 27-year-old smash his record.

Only Alan Shearer has reached the milestone quicker - the former Newcastle ace scored 100 goals in 124 games.
Now, the century club has a new member. Aguero scored his fourth goal in four days and the plaudits quickly rained in.

Henry is quoted by the Manchester Evenings News as telling Sky Sports: “We are talking about someone who is special - world class. When you are in trouble, he can bail you out.
“Those are the types of players who, when you are away, struggling and have not had a good day, we can defend and he might win us the game.
“You are always going to have a chance to score. That’s a world class striker.”
Indeed. Aguero has scored 27 goals in an injury-hit campaign for Manchester City.
Manuel Pellegrini added: “I am happy for him because it’s not easy to score 100 goals in the amount of games that Sergio did it.
"He’s second in the history of the Premier League, so I am happy for him and I hope he will continue the same way until the end of the season.”
It was a bittersweet night for Aguero. Though he was pleased to score, City failed to beat a team currently 19th in the table.
He tweeted: “I'd have wanted to reach my 100th goal on the PL with another result. Thank you for your messages. We'll keep on the fight #CMONCITY”.
Much of City’s success will depend on Aguero’s form in the final weeks of the season. The Citizens have a Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid approaching and, though they are underdogs, Aguero gives them a chance.
If the defence, which should be boosted by the return of Vincent Kompany, can shut out Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, they know they have a striker in Aguero who will capitalise on any chances City create.
The former Atletico Madrid striker has been linked with a move to Los Blancos and he’s certainly worthy of playing alongside Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
Yet City have been able to keep hold of their star player, with the arrival of Pep Guardiola in the summer all but ensuring Aguero sticks around for the foreseeable future.
The hunt for 200 begins now.
