WrestleMania 32 may have only just passed a couple of weeks ago, but the WWE is already looking ahead towards next year's event, taking place at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
With just under a year to go until the event itself, it's difficult to determine who will be competing because superstars may leave, retire, or become injured along the way, but the WWE has shown us what they would like to happen at next year's Showcase of The Immortals in a video on their website.
One of those matches is Roman Reigns vs Goldberg.

At this year's event, Reigns had a match against Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which he won via pinfall in the middle of the ring. It is widely speculated that he will be the champion in the WWE for some time, and the face of the company for years to come.
Goldberg on the other hand, he was rumored to have a match at WrestleMania for some time before the show, but the event came and went without any appearance from the former WCW star.

He has only appeared once at WrestleMania, at WrestleMania 20 in 2004 against Brock Lesnar with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee. Goldberg may have won the match, but he and Lesnar were heavily criticized by fans at the time due to the fact they knew both competitors were leaving the company. Stone Cold gave both competitors stunners on the night to make the fans happy.
The WWE points out that neither one of them was expected to be back in the company ever again, but said Lesnar has come back and achieved success, so maybe Goldberg would be able to come back and do the same thing.
As for why they want to see Reigns vs Goldberg, there is one clear connection between the two, the spear. Both men use the spear as one of their finishing moves, and they argue because of that Reigns could be next on Goldberg's list because of it.
With Reigns' current fan reaction, though, it might not be the best idea to put him up against Goldberg, unless WWE creative improves how his character is received. He's talented in the ring, but his promo skills need working on. If he was to feud with Goldberg, these need to be worked upon, otherwise, one slip would feel like a wasted feud.
Goldberg to return to the WWE? It could happen. Never say never when it comes to the WWE as the former WCW star is in good shape, but he isn't getting any younger, so it would have to happen sooner rather than later.
