Bradford set to leave the Eagles soon.

Sam Bradford to ask for trade away from Philadelphia Eagles

Published 6 Comments

It is an off-season of change for the Philadelphia Eagles who have seen their head coach, big name runningback and now possible a second quarterback leave the franchise.

Following the departure of Chip Kelly who will now coach the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles set out on a mission to prove that his era was over.

Questionable move?

Following Kelly's departure, the Eagles traded last year's big free agency signing in runningback DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans before seeing quarterback Mark Sanchez sign for the Denver Broncos in free agency.

They stole the headlines once again this week when they completed a trade with the Cleveland Browns for the second overall pick in the draft.

Moving from eighth to second now all but guarantees that the team will be draft a quarterback in the first round - a move that has caused one Eagles star to look at a future away from the franchise.

Quarterback Sam Bradford was the source of a big trade by the Eagles last year when they sent Nick Foles to the then St Louis Rams in exchange for Bradford.

Now the Eagles hopes of drafting either Carson Wentz or Jared Goff has led to Bradford reportedly preparing to ask for a trade.

Bradford may be looking for a trade away from the Eagles now that they are set to draft one of the top two quarterback prospects, but where will he land if he does get traded?

The need for starting quarterbacks in the NFL is a perplexing question with teams like the 49ers, Broncos and New York Jets all facing questions over the position.

New home for Bradford

If Bradford does become the source of a trade and move away from the Eagles, the landscape of the NFL could once again change drastically.

We could see Bradford follow Sanchez to Denver or replace Ryan Fitzpatrick in New York - if any team is interested in the trade that is.

The Browns who traded down in the draft signed Robert Griffin III in free agency as the answer to their quarterback issues, but there are still doubts over whether he is the man to save the franchise.

Giving up one of the top prospects in the trade, it will be interesting to see if the RGIII experiment pays off for Cleveland, or if it will be another in a long string of blunders.
