The world was shocked on Thursday when it was revealed that music icon Prince had passed away at the age of 57.
The singer was a native of Minnesota and a legend in the are, just like one Kevin Garnett.
After the pop superstar's death Thursday, the 39-year-old Garnett spoke about the loss of his friend, telling his favourite Prince story.
"My favorite Prince story was just in a nightclub, him sending for me and then telling me how much he knew about me and the game of basketball," Garnett told Marc Stein of ESPN yesterday.
"He was super confident, but humble in how he spoke to you. He was always very inviting and the one takeaway you got from every time you talked to him was how he was just so super cool."
Garnett also took to Instagram to pay his respects, posting a tribute to the 'Purple Rain' and 'Kiss' singer. In the post, KG said that he was lost for words and that Prince would forever be in the hearts of many.
Prince was a big fan of Minnesota basketball, supporting both the Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx who play in the WNBA, even going as far as to put on a free three-hour show for the women's team after they won the WNBA Championship.
