WWE's first pay-per-view after WrestleMania - Payback - is just around the corner, with some big matches already on the card including Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
However, some big names are still sidelined for the company from injuries before The Showcase of The Immortals, including Nikki Bella, Seth Rollins, John Cena, and Randy Orton.
Speaking of The Viper, he hasn't been seen on WWE programming since early October last year due to a shoulder injury, which put him out of action for several months.

Recent rumors have suggested Orton could be out for even longer, as according to Cageside Seats: "Dave Meltzer reported that while he's not sure yet, Randy Orton may still be 2-to-3 months away from returning to WWE."
Lacking a top heel
The WWE will be hoping that this isn't the case, as they could do with The Apex Predator in their programming. They're currently lacking a top heel for Reigns to contend with if he is going to be their champion for months to come.

The current two best heels in the WWE right now are Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho, and neither one of them is being built up right now to be any sort of threat towards The Big Dog and his championship.
The company could decide to turn Styles heel and have him link up with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, but it's unclear if he will even be pursuing the WWE title after he has his match at Payback.
Rollins could come back as a heel and challenge Reigns for the title. After all, he never lost it, as he was forced to relinquish it close to the end of last year due to injury, so he is due a championship match upon his return to try and win it back.
However, there are rumors he may not be in the main event when he comes back closer to the summer, so Orton might be the best option available to play heel to Reigns' face. There aren't that many other feuds he could be inserted into, as it doesn't look like he is ready to fight for mid card titles just yet.
Although he might not have the choice in the matter, as there has also been speculation that it will be Cena that faces the former Shield member for the WWE championship when SummerSlam arrives later this year, so Orton might have to settle for a simple singles match once more, like he did last year against Sheamus.
