Maryse recently made her return to WWE television on the April 4 edition of Monday Night RAW coming through the crowd in order to stop Zack Ryder's father from interfering in Ryder's first ever Intercontinental Championship defence. This was enough to distract Zack Ryder allowing The Miz to pick up the victory and win his fifth reign with the Intercontinental Championship.
Many fans were happy to see the former Divas Champion back with WWE despite the fact that she is only back in a managerial capacity choosing to stay retired from professional wrestling. Maryse is the real life wife of The Miz so the two have chemistry on screen and off. This marriage is portrayed in WWE's storylines too.
Over the course of the last couple of weeks, Maryse has helped The Miz to defeat Zack Ryder twice in matches for the Intercontinental Championship.

The Miz's current gimmick is a Hollywood movie star with the feeling that he is just too good for anyone else. Previous companions of his during the gimmick was his stunt double, Damien Mizdow. The stunt double worked really well for The Miz and if he's the leading man, then having a leading lady at his side certainly does make sense. Maryse has so far been seen with Miz backstage helping him out during interviews.
She's really helped to give The Miz a much-needed facelift as the heelish persona of The Miz hasn't really done much recently. Miz is once again fresh now that Maryse is by his side and there seems to be a new level of his character now developing which we will hopefully see more of as The Miz begins his feud with the Swiss Superman, Cesaro over the Intercontinental Championship.

One of the comments that are tossed around a lot in reference to Maryse is about her complimentary looks which go well with The Miz's already established caring about his look gimmick such as referring to his face as "The Money Maker." Maryse and Miz's characters fit together like clockwork and that is such a good thing for both.
Although it's unknown how long The Miz will be hanging on to the Intercontinental Championship, he has still received a much-needed character shakeup, helped by Maryse's return to the company. As time goes on, it's likely that we will see Maryse help Miz more both backstage and in-ring which is exactly what she needs to do.
Miz is already established as one of the best heels in the business and Maryse being at his side adds to that completely.
