Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has recommended the signing of Benfica starlet Renato Sanches to the club.
The Guardian claim that the Scot is an admirer of the 18-year-old, who has enjoyed a remarkable rise in the game throughout the course of the campaign.
As well as Ferguson, the same report claims that United's highest-ranking scouts have also been impressed with the midfielder.

Sanches, 18, has been prominent for Benfica and looks set to help the club secure the Portuguese title in the immediate future. The dynamic midfielder, who made his debut for the club back in October, has made 28 appearances this term.
The youngster only signed a new deal with the club last autumn, but the report claims that he has a release clause of £46 million.

But it won't be easy for the Red Devils to secure his signature, with a number of Europe's big boys seemingly monitoring his situation. In fact, the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all appear to be interested in his services.
But it seems that the Red Devils could be leading the race at this stage. United certainly have a history with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, and appear to be hopeful of pushing through a transfer in the next transfer window.
Anyway, if you haven't seen much of the exciting talent, then here's your chance to watch him in action:
United in need
The Red Devils are clearly in need in the midfield department: the duo of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick are approaching the latter stages of their careers, while Marouane Fellaini, despite scoring a crucial goal in the club's FA Cup semi-final victory over Everton last weekend, has been the subject of criticism time and time again during his stint in Manchester.
France international Morgan Schneiderlin is also plying his trade at the club, but he has failed to hold down a regular place in the starting XI.
While the Red Devils have a lack of young, talented players to select from in the middle of the park, it's quite clear that they have more than enough exciting prospects in other positions.
If the club capture Sanches this summer, then he will line up alongside the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah. The future is a bright one at Old Trafford.
