Shane McMahon returned to WWE Raw for the first time in almost seven years in what was one of the biggest shocks of the year, but the resulting story line seems to have confused many of the WWE Universe.
Shane made it clear that he wanted control of Monday night Raw and provoked Vince into making the match between him and The Undertaker with both Monday night Raw and the WrestleMania career of The Undertaker on the line.
Shane lost the match even though it was an impressive showing from the former WWE Champion, which meant that his dreams of controlling the company where over, but Vince has still allowed Shane to control the company, so what was the point of the match?

WWE NEED TO BOOST THEIR RATINGS
WWE's ratings were at an all time low when Shane was dragged back into the WWE spotlight and his return managed to keep them afloat for a while. The official statement was that Vince McMahon wanted John Cena to face Undertaker at the biggest event of the year in Texas, but when he found out that the 15 time World Champion wouldn't be cleared to wrestle, Shane McMahon was called upon.
The added stipulations were just ways to raise the profile of the match, with many fans aware that WWE would never allow The Undertaker to lose in his home state. But why didn't Shane leave the company following the match?

SHANE MCMAHON CONTROLLING RAW
Shane has now been in control of Raw for the past four weeks regardless of the fact that he lost his match. The first week was because Vince wanted to watch his son fail, before the second week was put down to fan support and WWE didn't even give a reason for this weeks episode.
The Authority have been written out of the show for a while with only Stephanie appearing on last night's show and Triple H still being AWOL following his WrestleMania title loss.
Stephanie announced that Vince will make the decision on who will continue to run the company at Payback this weekend, which still begs the question of why Shane even faced The Undertaker of they are once again giving him the option?
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Triple H has done a fantastic job in NXT, but will he and Stephanie be allowed to continue their run or will Vince decide in favor of the son he has apparently disowned?
