Most professional players would love to play for Barcelona.
The Spanish club are one of the greatest sides of all time, winning trophies every season and playing in a 99,000-seater stadium. It’s no wonder many players strive to play for the Catalan club.
Many of the players that want to play at Camp Nou, Barcelona probably aren’t too interested in. However, Mundo Deportivo are reporting that one player is keen to join Luis Enrique’s side and the club could well be similarly keen to sign him.

The Spanish newspaper state that Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Silva has expressed an interest in leaving the French club to join the five-time Champions League winners.
The 31-year-old has been close to signing for Barcelona in the past, most notably in 2012 when he left AC Milan to join PSG. The centre-back may have been tempted by the money being offered by the mega-rich club back then and he’s enjoyed a successful four years at Parc des Princes.

Silva wants European glory
But, despite four consecutive Ligue 1 titles, Silva may need a move if he wants to win a Champions League winners’ medal before he retires. Every season since he arrived at the club, PSG have been knocked out of the competition at the quarter-final stage - something that has reportedly frustrated Silva.
Moving to Barcelona would give Silva a much better opportunity of tasting European glory. The Catalans have reached, at least, the semi-finals in seven of the previous nine seasons, while they’ve been knocked out in the quarter-finals on the other two occasions.
As well as having a better chance to win the Champions League, a move to Barcelona would mean Silva would actually be involved in a title race. His PSG side sealed the league triumph on March 13, when they beat Troyes 9-0 to go 25 points clear. Compare that to the Spanish title race where one point separates the top three teams as Barcelona hope to pip Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid to La Liga glory.
Barca could be interested
After hearing about his interest, Barcelona may well make a move for Silva. The centre-back position is, arguably, where they need strengthening with Marc Barta the only adequate cover for Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano.
And it’s unlikely they will be put off by his advancing years. They signed Jeremy Mathieu when he was 30, while Thomas Vermaelen joined the Barcelona at the age of 29.
It’s not as though Silva is faltering with his advancing years either. The PSG skipper still has plenty of seasons left at the top level and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Barcelona make an approach for him in the summer.
