In a WWE NXT House show on Thursday night, Samoa Joe finally dethroned record-breaking former NXT Champion Finn Balor to become the new title holder. It came as a surprise to everyone as no one thought a major championship changed hands at a house show.
This has left many fans and various wrestling sources speculating the future of Finn Balor. He has achieved everything there is to achieve in NXT and it’s only a matter of time before he jumps ship to the main roster.
Some sources claim that this championship loss is merely a smokescreen for Finn Balor’s transition to the main roster, perhaps giving him an opportunity to train and prepare for matches with tougher superstars.

It is also been speculated that Finn Balor might be introduced into the ‘Bullet Club’ angle surrounding AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows, given that he used to be a member of the faction in previous wrestling promotions.
This may happen of course although it is also likely that Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson will be introduced to the Tag Team division, meaning that their focus would shift from Styles & Balor.
Given the nature of Finn Balor’s ‘demon’ gimmick and longevity as a champion, it is highly likely he will be introduced into the Intercontinental Championship picture. This would be ideal for fans given the exciting mid card superstars on the main roster (think Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro).
Alternatively and perhaps much more exciting in terms of potential storyline angles, Balor’s move to the main roster could indeed signal a reformation of the Balor club with three or all four members. This would provide fantastic matches against The League Of Nations or The Wyatt Family.
At this point, speculations are all we have. But we know for certain that this sudden title change is likely to have big implications for WWE.
