WWE Payback will be taking place this Sunday, May 1, with several storylines being concluded with two superstars facing off in the middle of the ring.
However, one feud that won't be settled with two superstars going one-on-one in the middle of the ring will be the clash between Shane McMahon and The Authority - Stephanie McMahon and Triple H - over control of Monday Night Raw.
Stephanie announced this past week on Raw - her first appearance since her husband was defeated by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32 - that her father, Vince McMahon, will make a decision this weekend to decide if it will be The Authority or Shane-O-Mac that controls Raw for good.

Cageside Seats, however, has reported the outcome of that decision by Vince may have already been decided. The choice he makes is one that has been speculated for some time.
Their article says: "It looks likely Vince McMahon will choose both Shane McMahon and Stephanie to run WWE and we'll get some sort of in-house competition as the progression of the storyline they're doing, possibly one running Raw and one running SmackDown."
Some fans have said they believe this decision should not be taking place, as Shane-O-Mac lost his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and therefore, didn't win control of the show in the first place. He should never have been put in charge on the Raw after WrestleMania.
Nevertheless, Mr. McMahon did make the decision to put his son in charge of Raw, and since then, fans have reacted strongly positively to the bookings on the show which has seen several NXT stars and new superstars arrive including the likes of Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Apollo Crews, and Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
Stephanie is using the case that the successful WrestleMania event and the launch of the WWE Network are the reasons why she should be in charge of the show and that Shane abandoned the WWE many years ago. Shane-O-Mac has claimed he brought back passion to a contaminated locker room caused by his sister.
At the end of the day, Vince will have to decide who runs Raw at Payback this weekend, and a fair solution could be to allow one to run Raw and the other to run SmackDown. Who will run which show remains to be seen but, this follows into one of the most talked about rumors recently that the WWE is about to have a brand split once more.
Competition between the two brands could lead to a major brand split storyline entering SummerSlam, where once and for all, the sole future leader of the WWE will be decided.
