Fan attempts to attack referee in Turkey - then gets a nasty surprise

What on earth is going on in Turkey at the moment?

Just last week an official was attacked by a fan during Trabzonspor's 4-0 cup defeat against Fenerbahce.

That match had to be abandoned and the official had to receive medical attention - and now another controversial incident has happened again.

Yesterday, during second-tier outfit Karabukspor's match against Elazigspor, a fan was seen running from the stands and approaching the referee.

The man appeared to throw an object at the man in black, but with security in hot pursuit he was soon grabbed and restricted, to be ushered from the field.

However the incident then took another turn for the worse when one of the Karabukspor players decided to take matters into his own hands, or feet, when he launched a karate kick at the invader's head. You can check out the pretty shocking incident below.

For what it's worth, the game was able to continue and finished 2-2, denting Karabukspor's slim chances of catching Adanaspor at the top of the table.
