15-time world champion, John Cena recently announced that he would be returning to WWE following his injury on the memorial day edition of Monday Night RAW on May 30th.
John Cena hasn't been seen on WWE programming since Wrestlemania 32 when he teamed up with The Rock for an in-ring segment in which they clashed with the Wyatt Family leading to the duo delivering yet another WrestleMania moment.
Fans were shocked when he didn't turn up the next night on RAW however it was later revealed that he still wasn't medically clear.

Neither John Cena or WWE have given any details on his role when he returns to the company or what we might expect, but that doesn't stop people from predicting.
United States Championship
The star-spangled championship has seemingly been completely stripped of all prestige that it had gained in 2015 with John Cena as the champion.

Many people have laid blame to such talents as Kalisto and Alberto Del Rio for that while others have favoured blaming the WWE creative team.
The championship has found itself relegated to the Kick-off show at the last three WWE pay-per-view events, Fastlane, Wrestlemania and now Payback.
John Cena proved throughout 2016 that he was capable of making the US Championship mean something.
The reign of the champion was cut short when Cena announced that he'd be taking time off from WWE back in October prompting a new champion in the returning Alberto Del Rio - since then, the US Championship became little more than an accessory for Del Rio.
Cena is still entitled to his rematch for his former championship so could we see him make a run at the title once again when he finally returns?
Albeit unlikely, John Cena has recently teased a heel turn on his twitter account. John Cena's Twitter and Instagram accounts are known for trolling the WWE universe and shouldn't be taken as a certainty.
The tweet from John Cena's twitter feed can be shown here below:
This could obviously just be Cena having some fun at the expense of the Internet fans or it could be the means for a new change in the Cena character that we've had for, in the opinion of some, for far too long.
Feud with Roman Reigns
Prior to his WrestleMania appearance, the last in-ring segment John Cena had was a face off with Roman Reigns after an episode of Monday Night RAW.
This was the first teaser of a potential storyline between the two and Reigns' appearances on talk shows in Cena's absence has only hyped it even further.
On the April fourth edition of 'The Today Show', Roman Reigns stole Cena's signature catchphrase and informed him that "the champ is here" referring to himself.
Reigns has been compared with John Cena more and more as of late which would make the contest between Vince McMahon's favourite two superstars so much more interesting.
