Following his loss to Kalisto on the Payback pre-show and another failed attempt at winning the United States Championship, Ryback was absent from RAW tonight.
We saw a battle royal take place to find a new number one contender for Kalisto's title - a match that Rusev would go on to win.
Missing Big Guy
Ryback was not only absent from the battle royal, but he was absent from the entire show leaving some fans to wonder why.

Normally if a battle royal to find a new challenger is confirmed, the former challenger is a part - even if most of the time, he is eliminated.
But Ryback wasn't there and it could signal the end of his WWE career if the stories that have emerged since are to be believed.
Lots of rumours tonight are claiming that Ryback asked to be written off of WWE TV for the foreseeable future.
The Big Guy and WWE have been in constant negotiations to try and resolve his contract issue but as of yet, have failed to find a solution.
Rybacks' contract with WWE will end in the summer and if the two parties can't come together to find an answer, it looks like the Big Guy will be leaving WWE.
It is being reported that he was sent home from the show given the current situation surrounding his contract while others claim that he demanded to be written off of TV.
This could be the end of Ryback's WWE career and the end to a career that has competed in some very big matches but never really able to achieve much success.
A new challenger
US Champion Kalisto was on commentary for the battle royal to decide his new number one contender tonight as names like Baron Corbin, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and the eventual winner Rusev battled it out for a shot at the title.
Rusev has previously won the US Championship during his debut year where he went unbeaten in WWE until WrestleMania XXXI.
Rusev becoming a two time US Champion would be a sure signal that he is once again being given a push by the WWE creative department.
