Leicester City’s star midfielder N’Golo Kante is being targeted by Paris Saint-Germain and has already met the club’s sporting director on several occasions, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
Claudio Ranieri's team only wrapped up the league title on Monday night, but already Europe’s biggest clubs are circling, with Kante considered to be one of the most sought after players in world football.
Born in Paris, PSG are hopeful that the allure of playing in his home city will give them the edge, although at this early stage the defensive midfielder’s preferred option is unknown.

However, the claim that PSG’s sporting director, Olivier Letang, has been in contact with Kante on more than one occasion will ring alarm bells with Leicester fans desperate to hold onto their genius midfield engine.
Kante has made more tackles (158) and more interceptions (148) than any other Premier League player this season, bringing him to the attention of all of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Signed from Caen for £5.6 million last summer, Kante is believed to be earning £55,000-per-week at Leicester and although he will be rewarded with a lucrative new contract this summer it is unlikely that the new champions can match the wages offered by PSG.
L’Equipe also claim that PSG’s pursuit of Sergio Busquets, who has a €175 million release clause, has ended, meaning attentions will turn fully towards £40 million rated Kante.
It is unclear at this time why a side boasting the likes of Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta, and Blaise Matuidi would be looking to spend so much money on another central midfielder, and indeed the competition for a first-team place could be enough to convince Kante that he is better off staying in the Premier League.
Much will rest on the decision made by teammates Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, both of whom are likely to receive lucrative offers this summer.
Should all three players decide that their futures lie away from the King Power Stadium, Leicester’s chances of defending their crown will be extremely slim.
