Hazard has endured a tricky season .

Eden Hazard is a disgrace according to Ian Wright

Published 19 Comments

Ian Wright believes that both Chelsea and Eden Hazard have been a disgrace for the way they have played this season.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking in his Sun Goals podcast, has hit out at Hazard for the way he has performed at Stamford Bridge this term.

In fact, Wright has gone as far as claiming that after producing a fine performance - and scoring a brilliant goal - against Tottenham, Hazard should be ashamed of himself.

Hazard may well have stopped Spurs staying in the Premier League title race on Monday night, but his performances have been well and truly below par throughout the course of the campaign.

After securing the Player of the Year award last season, this term has been one to forget for Hazard, who has scored just three goals in 28 league outings for the Blues.

Hazard slammed

Wright, then, has hit out at the player despite claiming that he produced a world class goal against Spurs.

Wright stated: “Chelsea have been a disgrace the way they have played this season. Eden Hazard has been a disgrace the way he's played this season.

“That was the old Hazard last night, he came back and he was absolutely magnificent and should be ashamed of himself.

“But that’s what happens when you play against a team that you don’t want to win something and Chelsea were up for it, unfortunately for Tottenham.

“Look at Hazard’s goal — it’s a world class goal from a world class player — he is a quality player who came to life.”

Poor attitude

In all honesty, it's difficult to disagree with Wright at this stage. Something has clearly been wrong with Hazard all season long and it has only been in the last couple of weeks that he has shown signs of redemption.

For one reason or another, the Belgium international doesn't appear to be interested in plying his trade at Stamford Bridge for the long-term, but he hasn't exactly gone about getting a move in the right way.

There's obviously a problem with the player's attitude and would one of Europe's biggest clubs opt to take a risk on him after his nightmare period?
