Owens and Zayn have been added to the title picture.

Could WWE be setting up a fatal four way match for the Intercontinental Championship?

Payback wasn't the beginning of a new era that many of the WWE Universe expected, but one thing is for certain and that is that Kevin Owens stole the show.

The former Intercontinental Champion defeated Sami Zayn before then stating that he was going back after the Championship that he was never pinned to lose, as Zack Ryder took it in the ladder match at WrestleMania.

Technically, because The Miz defeated Zack Ryder the night after, it meant that Owens no longer had a right to a rematch within WWE's rules, but he could force one if he went to the current manager of Monday night Raw.

MULTI PERSON MATCH ON THE CARDS?

Owens interfered in the Intercontinental Championship match between The Miz and Cesaro and saw Cesaro retain despite being forced to tap since the referee didn't see it.

Owens then requested a match on Raw last night but was interrupted by Cesaro and the two then collided before The Miz interfered and Sami Zayn was forced to intervene as Owens and Miz beat down Cesaro but then Zayn also made it clear that he was coming for the Championship.

It seems that WWE are planning to have all four men take part in a match at Extreme Rules, but they wouldn't need to make it an Extreme Rules match since a fatal four way already holds the no disqualification title.

SHOW STEALER?

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens stole the show at Payback this past weekend so it comes as no surprise that the duo have once again been put in a match together, the rivalry between them is more than personal and is visually supreme to many feuds WWE currently has to offer.

Add Cesaro and the champion The Miz into the mix and it is understandable that this match could well steal the show in less than three weeks time. It could also finally see The Miz drop the championship.

Many thought Sami Zayn would be the one to lift the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania as a way to expand the personal rivalry between Owens and Zayn, but instead Ryder was given a one day reign. Perhaps now WWE could be ready to give the title to Zayn as a way of seeing this feud last for another few months.
