Many wrestling news outlets are reporting that WWE is currently discussing the potential for a Shield reunion, with Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns to be their big summer angle in 2016.
While this news has got the fans excited, one member of the stable would be forgiven for not being excited about the possible reunion.
That person is Roman Reigns.

The Shield broke up in 2014 when Seth Rollins attacked his fellow members with a steel chair before aligning himself with 'The Authority'.
When this happened, people wondered what would happen to Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Despite the split, all three former Shield members went on to win a WWE belt, with Reigns and Rollins managing to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
WWE had high hopes of pushing Reigns as their resident strong man, but he just didn't get over with the fans, with the majority of the universe booing him at every appearance.
WWE officials are hoping that a Shield reunion will be the time in which they finally manage to get Reigns over with the crowd, but this possibly will not be the case.
A lot of WWE fans are now highly anticipating the return of The Shield. Ambrose has seemingly drifted away to the upper mid card territory this year despite significant showcases against such wrestlers as Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Seth Rollins has spent 2016 on the shelf upon sustaining an injury in November of last year, whilst Reigns has become a three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 32.
The idea of reuniting The Shield appears to be a way of getting Roman Reigns back over. While The Shield as a whole will certainly get over, with many calling the three-man duo the highlight of 2013, it will only serve as a way to temporarily get Reigns over.
Even then, it won't be him that is being cheered, it'll be the group as a whole.
Assuming that WWE will one day need to see them go their separate ways again, when Reigns eventually splits from the group, fans will most likely rebel against this and just continue to boo him like they do now.
While it is possible that he could be the one who turns on The Shield and in the process becomes a heel, people still want to see either Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose or The Shield group, as proven with the first generation of The Shield faction.
For WWE, this could easily become a common case of history repeating itself. Fans have been vocal in voicing their support for the resurrection of The Shield but not so much for Roman Reigns.
In the event of breaking up The Shield faction again and Roman Reigns failure to get over once again, the question then remains as to whether or not WWE will finally stop pushing Roman Reigns and if this is the case, will his career ever take off?
