Christian Benteke's debut season on Merseyside hasn't exactly gone to plan. The Belgium international has failed to produce the goods and struggled to maintain a place in the starting XI under German coach Jurgen Klopp.
Unsurprisingly, then, the former Aston Villa man has been linked with a move away from Anfield for quite some time.
And now, the Mirror are reporting that West Ham United are preparing a bid in the region of £25 million to secure the striker's signature.

The report claims that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic hasn't been put off by the forward's lack of playing time and is hoping to add him to his squad ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
Hammers chairman David Sullivan has already admitted that the club will look to splash the cash in the summer transfer window.
Chairman speaks out
Sullivan said on Monday: “We put in a bid today for £24m for a player, and other bids will be going in.
“We are going to make a £20m-£25m bid for a player in England this week. So whatever happens we’ll bring a top striker in.
“It’s a statement of intent. We’ll spend between £30m and £50m on transfers this summer. But you’ve got to build it up gradually. You can’t compete with the likes of Man United overnight.”
But how do Liverpool fans feel about the potential transfer? Well, after a season of disappointment for Benteke, it appears that they aren't too bothered that he could be leaving the club behind.
In fact, as you can see in a number of the tweets below, Reds fans are actually overjoyed that the Hammers are going to spend so much money on him.
£25m will represent a £7m loss for Liverpool - they paid £32m for him just under one year ago - but after such a torrid time for the striker, it's safe to say that the club's faithful will be more than happy with that figure.
There's a long way to go in this saga, of course - it's not even certain as to whether Klopp still has Benteke in mind for next season - but it certainly wouldn't come as a surprise if Benteke joined the Hammers.
