Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes Chelsea should move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the summer.
As reported by Sky Sports, Merson has insisted that Sturridge is the 'best around' and his former club should attempt to bring him back to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
Sturridge, of course, departed west London in favour of a move to Merseyside back in 2013 and quickly established himself as a leading player for the Reds.

The 26-year-old has, however, endured a tricky time at Anfield recently - injuries have taken their toll on him - but Merson believes the Blues, who will be taken over by Antonio Conte at the end of the campaign, should make their move.
Merson stated: "I would also go back for Daniel Sturridge. I don't see a problem with him going back to Stamford Bridge. He's had his injury problems but he's the best around."
The former Arsenal midfielder has also suggested that Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe could make a good signing for the Blues.
Defoe may well be approaching the latter stages of his career, but he has once again produced the goods in England's elite division.
Merson continued: "If you are looking for someone who may not play all the time then why not go for Jermain Defoe? He has consistently scored goals throughout his career and has fired 15 goals for a relegation-threatened club."
In all honesty, it would come as a surprise if Chelsea swooped for either Sturridge or Defoe in the next transfer window but stranger things have happened.
One thing is for sure, after a season of turmoil at the Bridge, it's extremely likely that Conte will make a number of changes to his squad ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
Diego Costa's Chelsea career is by no means over, but the addition of a striker is clearly required at Chelsea.
Conte has a tough job on his hands and must change the dynamic of his side in the summer. Two or three strong signings should help Chelsea return to their best next term.
