There is currently a so-called 'Golden Era' in women's wrestling and the likes of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and the WWE Women's Champion Charlotte are leading the charge.
But one of the more popular era's for women in Sports Entertainment was the attitude era, when now Hall of Famers like Lita and Trish Stratus ruled the WWE.
One last run?
Stratus was arguably the most popular 'diva' in the history of WWE and despite her retirement in 2006, she could be set for another spell in the WWE.

In a recent interview with ‘Sports Illustrated’ Trish Stratus commented on a possible WWE comeback.
Stratus suggested that if she were to return, she would like to face Ronda Rousey and perform as a heel once more.

Given that she retired in 2006, a comeback would be perfectly timed given that she has been away from the WWE for ten years.
If Trish does make a comeback, here are some ways that WWE could utilise her:
Trish vs Lita
Although we’ve seen it many times before, a final showdown with Lita would be a brilliant match to see once again.
Given that WrestleMania 33 is already being discussed, this would be a great addition to the match card, and if the two superstars do consider a comeback, now would be a great time to start building this rivalry.
This match would serve as a great reminder of how strong the division has always been, and would be a fantastic send off for both women under the lights in Orlando, Florida.
Another Women’s Championship run
This is another great way of creating further excitement in the women’s division.
It would give the current roster the opportunity to work with and learn from a veteran, whilst also providing the opportunity of elevating up and coming superstars.
If Trish were to win once more and have another reign as Women’s champion, we could see exciting match ups such as Trish vs NXT alumni like Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.
Although considering the fact that these women are already successful and over with the crowd, I would suggest a better idea would be for Trish to put over Bayley, given that she is yet to make her main roster debut.
Alternatively, considering that Sasha Banks is arguably the most popular wrestler in the Women’s division, it might be a good idea for Trish to put over Sasha Banks. This could serve as a sort of ‘passing of the torch’.
