Vince could bring in other talent.

Vince McMahon has reportedly given up on Roman Reigns

Published 11 Comments

It’s no secret that the WWE Universe aren’t huge fans of Roman Reigns, the thunderous negative reactions on a weekly basis haven’t affected the WWE’s decision to push him to the moon as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

However, it looks as if that could be changing relatively soon if rumours are to be believed. His position in the company as the top dog is being criticised, and there are strong rumours that it’s affecting other stars too.

Last week it was revealed that there was backstage criticism on the handling of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows since their arrival, suggesting they’ve been booked to look weak compared to Reigns and The Usos and this could ultimately affect the Reigns push we’ve been forced to witness.

DailyWrestlingNews.com have reported that this all boils down to the handling of Anderson and Gallows, as it’s creating a difference of opinion amongst WWE officials including Vince and Triple H.

They’re reporting that Triple H is adamant in making Reigns look as strong as possible, mainly because if the WWE give up on him now, then it’s almost an impossible task for him to get back in this spot based on the reactions he’s currently receiving.

Vince, on the other hand, is rumoured to be backing off on Reigns and he’s growing tired of him, believing that the “experiment” has failed. If this is the case, then this means the WWE could be changing their plans and it comes at a very interesting time because the likes of John Cena and Seth Rollins are on the verge of returning.

First McMahon Million Dollar Mania Winners Announced

It makes perfect sense to have Rollins enter the title picture once more; he was forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after sustaining a knee injury and going after the championship he never lost seems like the logical avenue to go down.

However, Cena is somebody who will always be involved in the title picture, mainly because he’s that important to the company that he’s a guaranteed success in whichever role they utilise him in.

Not only that, drastic measures could be taken regarding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the Reigns push, they’ve also reported that rumblings backstage suggest Vince could call up some of the most talented guys around in Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe sooner rather than later.

It’s clear that Vince understands that the WWE Universe aren’t completely sold on Reigns, and his feud with AJ Styles just goes to show that as 95% of the fans are wanting Styles to defeat Reigns at Extreme Rules.

The potential arrival of particular NXT stars could also switch things up, while it’ll be great entertainment for the fans, it doesn’t bode well for Reigns who is still sitting at the top of the tree, for now at least.
